This project is a study of accents and dialects that are directly synonymous with my self.
Being a British citizen, the poster below is a break up of a variety of different phrases and words that can be identified with that area. The research for this came from listening to different BBC radio podcasts from different areas about accents and dialects in the UK. I took note of the common phrases and words and compiled them across an illustrated map of the UK.
- HALF SHEEP HALF CAMEL -
More of a tribute to my own rather unusual background, Arabic and Welsh. I explore the language from both sides of my families’s heritage as well as the various accents in the UK focusing mostly on my current place of residency, being Bristol. I have always been intrigued by both the Arabic and Welsh Language but regretfully can speak little of both. The making of this publication allowed me to explore the accents and dialects that I could personally correspond and experiment with.
